Local Updates

On Friday 5th October I was pleased to launch the CCTV security camera networks in Belgrave and Mt Evelyn. Security cameras prevent and deter crime, helping make our towns and suburbs safer places to live, work and shop. Since 2016, funding from the Federal Government's Safer Communities Programme has enabled Victoria Police, working in conjunction with local traders, to install CCTV security cameras networks in various towns around the electorate.
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has recently changed the boundaries for the Casey electorate. Casey has increased in size and now includes all of the Dandenong Ranges. Its boundaries largely mirror those of the Yarra Ranges Council.
2018 Casey Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Awards Nominations now closed
The Australian Government is investing $20 million in Volunteer Grants in recognition of the hard work and many hours over 8.7 million volunteers dedicate to not-for-profit organisations. The 2018 Volunteer Grants Program provides funding to support, encourage and increase participation in volunteering in local communities.
I am thrilled that the new East Warburton phone tower is up and operating. The Turnbull Government's Blackspot funding programme was created so towers like this could be built and communities like East Warburton could be assisted.
