New courts are a hit

In an exciting development for tennis players in Lilydale, a project to resurface two tennis courts at the Lilydale Tennis Club has recently been completed.

$20,000 in funding from the Turnbull Government’s Stronger Communities Programme, which was matched by the Club, ensures that all of the Club’s courts are of a similar standard. Lilydale Tennis Club now has the capacity to host regional tournaments.

Hon John McVeigh MP, the Minister responsible for the Stronger Communities Programme and I recently visited the Club to see the resurfaced courts.

The Government has announced the 2018 Budget will provide funding for another round of Stronger Communities funding.

It is anticipated that Round 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme will commence later this year. For more information: https://www.business.gov.au/assistance/stronger-communities-programme.
