Dirt roads are a real and everyday issue for thousands of people in the Casey electorate. That’s why in April, the Federal Budget included $300 million to seal unmade dirt roads in the Dandenongs and surrounding areas.
When announcing this much needed investment for our region, I said $150 million is for unmade roads in the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley via the Yarra Ranges Council. The other half is for roads in neighbouring Cardinia Shire.
Over a decade, Council will use $150 million to help seal 250 kms of dirt roads – all with the aim of ending the days of dust, potholes and mud.
Yarra Ranges Council is currently developing its plans to undertake this important work for our community. Its first priority is to seal unmade roads near community facilities such as schools and kindergartens.
