The prize winners from the 2018 Casey Anzac Writing Competition were announced in the lead-up to Anzac Day. This year, ten local primary schools participated with ninety students producing a piece of writing addressing the topic “What does Anzac Day mean to me”.
Later this month we’ll pause on Anzac Day to remember those who have served our nation. In 2018, we continue to mark the centenary of the First World War, in particular the battles along the Western Front that turned the tide of the war in favour of the Allies in 1918.
It was exciting to visit Seville, Monbulk and Powelltown netball clubs to inspect their brand new, state of the art netball courts. They were three of the five netball clubs that received funding from round one and two of the Turnbull Government’s Stronger Communities Grants Programme, in partnership with Yarra Ranges Council.
