Plans to build Australia’s new Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle for the Australian Army were announced in late March.
Over the 30 year life of the ‘Boxer’ vehicles, Australian industry will deliver two–thirds, or $10.2 billion, of the acquisition and sustainment work. This expenditure will create up to 1450 jobs across Australia, including 170 in Victoria.
Most importantly, the ‘Boxer’ combat vehicles will provide improved levels of security and protection for our soldiers.
The Turnbull Government is investing $200 billion in Australia’s defence capability over the next decade to ensure the Australian Defence Force has the best equipment available to succeed in a challenging strategic environment.
