North Sydney By-Election - 26 October 2015

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (the Hon Tony Smith MP) announced that he has today issued a writ for the election of a Member of the House of Representatives for the electoral division of North Sydney, in New South Wales, to replace the Hon Joe Hockey following his resignation.

The dates in connection for the by-election are as follows:

Issue of writ Monday, 26 October 2015

Close of rolls Monday, 2 November 2015

Date of nominations Thursday, 12 November 2015 Declaration of nominations Friday, 13 November 2015 Date of polling Saturday, 5 December 2015

Return of writ On or before Wednesday, 3 February 2016.

We command you that you cause election to be made according to law of one Member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral Division of North Sydney, to serve in the Parliament of our Commonwealth of Australia and we appoint the following dates for the purposes of the said, election

For the close of the Rolls, Monday, the second day of November, 2015. For nomination, Thursday, the twelfth day of November, 2015. For taking the poll at the different polling places in the event of the election being contested, Saturday, the fifth day of December, 2015. For the return of the writ on or before Wednesday, the third day of February,
